Everything about HER
Okay guys A LOT of you ask me about HER, some people still surprised… any way here we go
First of all NO SHE IS NOT A BLOGGER. She’s a special girl 20 years old studying at uni to become an English translator ,
Fist time I saw her was 3.5 years ago, and it was a fast look nothing more, thought she’s my cousin’s friend somehow…
In Jan- 2008 I went to Damascus to bury my mom’s grandma, and on the 3rd day Mum and aunts ( the band ) started it and trust me, no matter how you think you’re tough and strong, when them WOMAN start something they get it! So the talking started like this : Muoffaq see this girl , or that … and I was like NO thanks not a suitable time come on yallah …etc
So the band starts telling me about her, and I was like whom? I rollback in memory and smiled, thought
She’s in suitable age
Moderate and religion
Known family From Damascus
This was the basics, so I said OK let’s see her. We went to their family place and usually the women go alone at first to see the girl and her family, then the guy with his family go again to see her, but in my case NO we all went in on the first visit
They took me with them, and knocked the door and we were sitting in the guest room waiting …
I saw her; I smiled after we were done and walking in the St. and Mum and aunt started investigating: “Soo?”
WOMAN arrrgh :D , did u like her? Did u see her face well? Did u hear her voice …etc ?
I answered by smile nothing more. Mum felt something wrong and started talking “you don’t like her? It’s ok we can see others” ..etc
I said: Mum it never works like that with me! I want to talk with the girl alone, then my aunt jump saying WHAT? But it’s not in our tradition,
Again I said I WANT TALK TO HER ALONE …
Mum to my aunt: Call her mum ask for that
My aunt: ha??
Mum: YES, it’s his life and he is the one who is going to marry her
So next day the day we all sat , then mum took them to another room and we are alone there , and yeah I still remember her tomato face :D . We talk for an hour and half , then I get out of the room to another and I sat with her father and her older brother.. We talked and talked and laughed and got know each other more. Then we sat all together , my mum winked at me as “sooo?”
I smiled and shaking my head
So we read Fateha ( Sura of the holy Quran ) as a first agreement between the two families till they knew more about each other and made their mind to finally agree , and so me and her can talk to each other by phone , or Chatting ..etc
So the next day was my travel back to Amman, mum ask for me to allow sit with her another time just before I traveled. So that’s what happened and we chatted for two hours, and I gave her phone numbers for people who knew me in Amman so they can ask about me.
Then I came back to Amman waiting for them to make their mind about me after they asked about me, so we can arrange the engagement date.
After a week they replied that everything is alright, we can arrange the engagement date and we did that, and my engagement party was in 28-2-2008

Believe me 70% of guys at end by using the traditional way or let say the modern one
Its better in my case cuz what I am looking for ,is something I cant get by my self easy at all ,
add to that hehe wait part two :) it will clear things more for u :)

This is really nice to read .. I was always asking myself if it really works this way .. i mean exactly the way you described .. to go visit the girl’s family and ask to sit with her alone at her parents house .. nothing is more straight forward than that !!

wow that’s sound exciting ,may allah give you and her happeness and good life but I well give you some advices:
sorry but some of these things happen with me and I learn my lesson in hard way
1 to not have kids right away wait for 2-3 years so you and her have time to know more about each other
2 try to understand the emotion side that she’s away from her parents and keep it in mind
3 have ur life with her like close book nobody know anything about anything happen
